Signals are not working at Khayaban-e-Shujaat, Khayaban-e-Shahbaz and several other major roads. Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, on Sunday announced the initiation of grant of propriety rights to 1,417 goths. He made the announcement to this effect while handing over lease documents to Karachi’s old goths in Pipri- Bin Qasim, District Malir. Addressing a big public meeting, he said that the founder of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had promised to give `Roti, Kapra aur Makan’ to the people. In a statement issued here on Sunday, the MSA said that the Indian fishermen were caught on Saturday about “110 nautical miles inside the Pakistan’s exclusive economic zone”. Karachi topped the list of cellphone snatching across the country, a key indicator of street crimes, as more than 200,000 people were deprived of their cellphones during the last five years, it emerged on Sunday. The number of people whose cellphones were either snatched or stolen across the country, excluding Karachi, between 2006 and 2011 was over 400,000. A recently released annual report of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said that the number of snatched or stolen cellphones blocked since 2006 under their International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers by the telecom watchdog with the assistance of the cellular companies and the Citizen-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) stood at 623,495. KMC banned Weddings at Sports Complex

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has announced a ban on the holding of wedding ceremonies at the football ground and the swimming pool area of the Kashmir Sports Complex with effect from April 1. The decision was taken by Karachi Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan while presiding over a meeting of the relevant officials in his office, according to a press release.
