Two people were killed in Karachi Blast

Two people were killed and up to eight were injured in a blast near a printing press in the Malir Halt area of Karachi on Thursday.

According to source the blast occurred near Afshan Printing Press.

Sources said that it might be a suicide attack, however, an official confirmation has not been received yet.

According to BSD officials said that a motorcycle was found from the blast site. They said that either the suicide attacker was on the bike or explosives were laden on it.

It has been reported that the an armoured personnel carrier was the target of the attack. Police officials have said that the reason of security personnel being targeted will be disclosed once investigations have been completed.

The armoured personnel carrier belonged to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Rao Anwar’s contingent.

SSP Anwar along with other police officials escaped unhurt while the people present at the site sustained injuries.

The injured have been shifted to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre.

Police, Bomb Disposal Squad (BSD) and rescue teams reached the blast site and cordoned off the area.
