KARACHI: Security plans have been formulated for the month of Muharram as pillion riding has been banned for the metropolitan city from midnight of October 20 while suggestions have been given to ban mobile services as well. Security plans for Rangers, Police, Bomb Disposal and other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) have been formulated for 8, 9 and 10th Muharram. According to security plan, more than 17000 security personnel participate in Muharram duties as more than 600 processions will be taken out in Karachi. 146 processions have been declared ‘highly sensitive’ while 378 processions have been declared ‘sensitive’. At least 300 security cameras installed in Karachi for Muharram processions


KARACHI: At least 300 security cameras have been installed on passages through which mourning processions will pass in connection with Muharram. At least three command and control rooms have been established to monitor the happenings all the time. Rangers, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), Sindh Police and sniffing dogs will take part in security maintenance. However, cameras will assist personnel on identifying suspects. 18 more dengue cases confirmed in Karachi

Atleast 18 more dengue cases were confirmed in Karachi on Monday during the past 24 hours. Sources report that more than 200 dengue victims have been reported this week in both government and private hospitals whereas the patients’ toll affected by the deadly virus has reached to 2400 in the ongoing year. Besides this six people have died in the metropolis as a result of the disease. On the other hand, spray campaign for the prevention of dengue has yet not initiated by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation. Three Killed in Overnight Karachi Violence


At least three people were overnight killed in different firing and violence incidents in metropolis areas. Moments after the midnight, a man was injured in a firing incident near Disco Bakery in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. He succumbed to injuries while he was being rushed to hospital. The second firing incident occurred in Orangi Town where a person lost his life in Haryana Colony. The most recent incident was witnessed in Old Haji Camp where a man was shot to death. All three deceased could not be identified as yet.

Fire at SITE Factory Still at Large

The flame that broke out instantaneously at a manufacturer situated in SITE area of the town, could not be put out as yet sources revealed Friday. According to sources, the fire exploded at 5am today. Soon afterwards, two firefighting automobiles were sent towards the fire site; but, the flame surrounded the whole factory before it could be put out. Rangers Arrest more than 100 Suspects in Search Operation


Ranger performed a search opertion in different places of the city and caught more than 100 alleged individuals. According to the reports, Ranger performed function in Frontier Community, Metrovel, Afghan Community, Sohrab Goth places and performed home to home look for after ending entry and exit points of the places. Young Man Found Shot Dead


The body of an unidentified young man was found in the Manghopir area on Tuesday evening, police said. They said that the trussed-up body was found at a deserted spot at Northern Bypass and the police shifted it to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities. The victim had been shot three times, they said, adding that three spent bullet casings of a 9mm pistol and one casing of a.30-bore pistol were found at the crime scene. Ranger raided Jumma Goth place of Malir and caught 25 individuals here on Tuesday. According to resources, Ranger performed raid in Jumma Goth and while looking the homes, they curved up 25 individuals. During the operation, entry and exit points of the area were closed. Earlier, the rangers released raids in Macher coloney, close to Maripur Street and caught few suspects. The suspects are being interrogated. Meanwhile, the Ranger also performed raids in Naya Abad, Darya Abad and Memon Community areas of Lyari and taken a desired charged. Man Killed and Two Bodies Found


A man was shot dead after a brief altercation over parking of a vehicle in Mahmoodabad area and two bodies were found in Lines Area and Haji Camp areas on Sunday, police said. Police said that Muhammad Luqman, 38, had had a heated argument with one Abdul Qadir when the latter parked the car outside his hardware shop near Gujjar Chowk close to Mahmoodabad furniture market. “In the course of arguments, Qadir pulled out a pistol and fired at Luqman,” said the area’s sub-divisional police officer, DSP Altaf Hussain. “He was hit in the chest and was rushed to the Jinnah hospital where he died.
