Main region of the city delved into night after extra-high tension lines triggered in Saturday wee hours; also, the street lighting went off tossing the streets in delivered black. High stress range of Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) triggered instantaneously resulting in the unexpected revocation of energy to the most places of the town, appearing serious problems to the people. The places where energy is revoked include Gurumandir, Jahangir Road, Teen Hatti, Karimabad, Federal B. Area, Sohrab Goth, Sarjani Town, New Karachi, North Karachi, Buffer Zone, Paposhnagar and Golimar. Violence Claims Five More Innocent Lives in Karachi

While law enforcement agencies attempt to control violence and unrest in the city, the most recent spate of firing incidents took five lives in Karachi on Wednesday.  Unidentified men opened fire on and killed a man identified as Qari Muhammad Imran at a cell phone shop near Filmistan Cinema on Nishtar Road. The deceased was a muezzin at a nearby mosque. Following the incident, people burned tyres and created an uproar, resulting in halting of traffic from Teen Hatti to Lasbela. A man identified as Shujaat Hussain was killed when unidentified men fired upon him in Orangi Town. Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad laid the foundation stone of another flyover in Liaquatabad at Dakkhana on Sunday. He said that the flyover would be completed in six months with an estimated cost of Rs369million. He said that Sharhah-i-Pakistan was an important corridor, which connected the city to Superhighway. Besides 6,000 buses and minibuses, heavy traffic and private vehicles passed through this corridor so it was decided to make it signal-free to improve the flow of traffic, he added. KMC cancel the agreement of Fly Over Contractor at four locations

The four flyovers, which are being constructed in Karachi at the expense of more than Rs1 billion of taxpayer money, are being designed by NAA Consulting Engineers (Pvt) Ltd but only after the city ended its agreement with the firm. The flyovers are planned for Ayesha Manzil, Water Pump, Liaquatabad Daak Khana and Teen Hatti intersections, a senior Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) official said. The little-known NAA Consulting Engineers Pvt Ltd came to prominence after it became joint venture partners with the National Engineering Services Pakistan (Nespak), one of the largest consultancy firms in the country. Violence gripped parts of Karachi on Tuesday following murder of a Muttahida Qaumi Movement worker in the city. Police said MQM worker Mansoor Mukhtar was gunned down by unknown armed men when they barged into his home at PIB colony, adding that two women were also injured in the attack. Shopkeepers Staged a Protest Demonstration at Teen Hatti


Shopkeepers of a flower market at Teen Hatti on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration against extortion demands. They blocked the main Teen Hatti road for several hours to protest against police inaction over what they described as daily extortion calls and threats of dire consequences in case of non-payment. Four days ago, they said on Tuesday, a shopkeeper received a Rs500,000 extortion slip and upon his refusal, armed motorcyclists arrived at his shop and opened indiscriminate fire.
