Transporter block Super Highway In Protest


Intercity Transporters on Monday blocked Main Super Highway against Nawabshah incident which claimed eight lives. According to details, enraged transporters continued their protest against the killing of coach driver and passengers of the bus. They demanded protection to the transporters across the country. Transporters had also staged protest at MA Jinnah Road against the said incident and had announced to block Super Highway if their demands were not fulfilled. They demanded Rs one million compensation to the heirs of the deceased, Rs 0.5 million to the injured and proper security plan to the transporters.On Monday, the transporters blocked the Main Super Highway for almost two to three hours near Karachi toll plaza. National Highway Blocked by Protesting People

People distraught by the non-availability of electricity and water, took to National Highway and staged a protest demo against the power cuts and subsequent water scarcity . The infuriated protesters showing their anger over power cuts in their area Quaidabad, blocked the highway causing massive disruption to the traffic flow. Police spokesman directed the passengers and commuters to take the alternative route from Qaidabad and Shah Latif Town. Heavy contingents of police have arrived on the troubled spot likely to witness violence with huge number of Quaidabad residents present on the Highway to get their protest registered.

CIA arrested five Suspects over Alleged Involvement in Highway Robberies


The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), Sindh Police Tuesday claimed to have apprehended five suspects over their alleged involvement in highway robberies. The suspects were identified as Yar Mohammad, Ameer Hamza, Abdul Majeed, Bilal and Feroz. Police officials also claimed to have recovered two Kalashnikoves and five TT pistols from their possessions. Their arrests were disclosed at a press conference at CIA Jamshed Quarter. According to CIA officials, the culprits were arrested after an encounter near Super Market in Sohrab Goth after the CIA officials and personnel conducted a raid on a tip-off about their presence.
