Two people were killed and up to eight were injured in a blast near a printing press in the Malir Halt area of Karachi on Thursday. According to source the blast occurred near Afshan Printing Press. Sources said that it might be a suicide attack, however, an official confirmation has not been received yet. According to BSD officials said that a motorcycle was found from the blast site. They said that either the suicide attacker was on the bike or explosives were laden on it. It has been reported that the an armoured personnel carrier was the target of the attack. Violence gripped parts of Karachi on Tuesday following murder of a Muttahida Qaumi Movement worker in the city. Police said MQM worker Mansoor Mukhtar was gunned down by unknown armed men when they barged into his home at PIB colony, adding that two women were also injured in the attack. Miscreants on early morning got shops and main markets closed in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Sadar, Pakistan Chowk, Teen Hatti, Jamshed Road, Liaqat Abad and other areas, torching more than a dozen vehicles on roads.
